Selling Your Home: First Steps
Looking for a new house to buy is the fun part. Selling your old one? Not as much fun. Use this list to help start the process.
- Get estimates for anything in and around your home that may need repairs. Understand that anyone who may be interested in buying your home will look for problem areas that could decrease their offer.
- Make sure you don't have termites! Have a professional inspection and keep the paperwork to prove it.
- Gather all warranty information on everything that will remain with the home. This can include appliances, air conditioning, roof, etc.
- Have an official home inspection, the same way you would when buying a home. You'll find out whether there are deal-breaking problems that need to be addressed before it's too late.
- Fill out a disclosure form from your real estate agent. Include anything that could create liability for you after the sale.
From here on out, your real estate agent should be able to make things as easy as possible. Matrix Properties would appreciate the opportunity to provide that help. Give us a call.
